The Common Vulnerabilities and Exposures (CVE) system is a load-bearing piece of the world’s cybersecurity infrastructure, and it was still perilously close to being suspended. The current US administration’s FIRE – READY – AIM approach to cost cutting was to blame for what could have been a catastrophic loss.
